Entre Amor y Marte. El carro triunfal durante los reinados de Carlos IV y Fernando VII

This article studies visual representations of triumphal chariots during the first years of the 19th century in Spain, those that coincide with the here reigns of Carlos IV and Fernando VII.It focuses on those representative transports that physically carried monarchs or military heroes at the royal entrances or funeral processions during the turbulent years of the end of the ancien regime and the War sensationnel kiyari of Independence against Napoleon.The work analyses iconographic antecedents and cultural and political references of the historical context where this Roman image of the triumphal vehicle is resurrected.
